Gold Wedding Sets

I bought a sterling silver solitaire cz ring at Target for $10, and it’s still pretty nice. They also sell sterling silver band & ring set for about 1-20 dollars.

In addition, they also have created diamond ring for about 50 dollars.

Hi guys,
Just wondering if $4,000 is too much money for a white gold 1 karat wedding and engagement ring set? I am buying it for my fiance and I think she would love it but I want to make sure I’m not getting ripped off. It seems kind of pricey for being white gold and not platinum. I wanted to get platinum but it was almost $2500 more. Please be honest because I don’t want to get screwed over, thanks. I am thinking of looking elsewhere but wanted to know what everybody thinks.
Oh btw the main diamond is not 1 karat just to clarify. It’s .40 less than half a karat and its a G quality (don’t remember the S1 number) but it’s a nice diamond—priced at $1100) the total weight including the diamonds set into the engagement ring and wedding ring are 1.10 karats.

$4000 isn’t bad, but before you buy it, visit Zales, they have a GREAT policy, and right now they have some OVER 1 Ct. sets on clearance, + 30% off. Great deals, also, they have a "trade up" policy where if you ever wanted to trade it for something bigger, they give you full price. (But say if it was $2500, you would have to buy a $5000) We bought my ring from there and it is a 1 1/2 ct. solitaire for the price of what you are going to pay for the other. Also, don’t pay the extra thousands for a certified one, they are all the same, some just have numbers stamped on them for insurance purposes. Zales has a full 100% replacement guarantee for just a little more money. I hope you can find what you need! Congrats!

Oh and one more thing, white gold is actually prettier than platinum, I think, and you can have gold resurfaced fairly cheap if it ever starts to lose it’s sparkle!!

My engagement ring and wedding band are white gold. I am allergic to white gold. I went to a jeweler today and asked about it being coated with a rhodium seal. He highly recommended not doing so and just replacing it with a platinum setting because I would constantly keeping having to have it resealed. Is this true, and if so how often will I have to have it sealed because to get a platinum setting and new band will be very expensive.

You probably are allergic to nickel which is used to make the gold white. The bottom link says you probably would have to coat it with rhodium every year. Platinum or titanium contains no nickel.

Gold braided wedding bands can be traced back to the time of the ancient Egyptians. Carried on by the conquering Greeks and Romans, braided wedding bands are still popular today. As history tells it, wedding bands were first made of papyrus and weeds growing alongside the Nile of Egypt. They were twisted and braided into rings and exchanged amongst men and women as braided wedding bands, symbolizing an eternal bond, as represented by the circular nature of the braided band.

Eventually the Greeks conquered the Egyptians and carried on the tradition as it spread to other societies, such as Roman culture. Braided wedding bands were the physical manifestation of the the concept of marriage. Soon metal was introduced, and so began the tradition of braided gold wedding bands. Braided wedding bands, in fact, were legally binding. As men and women staked claims related to their betrothed.
This rich history along with the striking physical nature marked by the appearance of intertwined 14K gold, make braided wedding bands a perfect choice. I know it’s real. More than one jeweler has told me they’d buy it from me and give me twice what I paid. So it’s not the metal. Could it be something I ate that’s making my skin acidic?

I know this is going to sound horrible, double check that you have the exact ring your hubby got you. When my sister married her fiance at the time, he got her a huge beautiful diamond. It was like 6 carats. And when they got divorced she went to cash it and was told it wasn’t real. And what had happened was that her ex-hubby owed some big debts and he took her ring in and had the diamond exchanged some two years before. And she was totally clueless. Another thing is the jewelers who told you they would buy it, were they overly agressive about it. Twenty years ago my father got my mother a pink diamond with a ruby inset for her birthday. Well, she went in to have it cleaned and the jeweler kept wanting to buy it. Well, of course my mother said no. And get this when she took it home the next day, my dad looked right at it and told her the diamond in it wasn’t real. The only thing that could have happened was that the jeweler exchanged her diamond for a fake. You should have been there, my mom was so mad. Anyways, I know your problem is with your band. The only thing that I can think of is that the band has been switched ( it does happen ) or over a period of time your ring has been exposed to to much of a certain chemical, which does nothing to the gold, but when it rubs off on your skin it can turn it green. best of luck figuring out your problem. :)

the only cheap rings ive seen are like titanuim sterling silver and others but i dont know if they are good medals or if the will rust or make your finger turn green? i really want white gold wedding band for me and my husband were can i find the set for bride and groom cheap from$150-$200

The biggest problem with Titanium is that it cannot be sized. So if you ever lose or gain weight, you’ll have to buy a new ring.

Sterling Silver is fine, as long as it’s truly Sterling Silver. You want something that’s solid, not just plated.

Overstock.com is a good place to look.
Here’s a white gold and diamond band for $129
And a nifty heart & diamond ring for under $100

Just doing a quick look online, a white gold men’s band is around $150 for 14K and 5-6mm.

I found a .925 Sterling Silver 6mm band for him for $27. http://www.perryolsen.com/Sterling-Silver-Wedding-Band-Ring-6mm-P103731.html

does anyone have an idea what gold is worth from 1943

Take it to a jewler or someone that specializes in gold.

Just the bands for a man and woman.

My fiance and I went to an excellent place to get our rings. They are excellent quality and the serivce was the best ever! Also, you tell them your price range, they will show ya a few things, and then if you cant afford it, but you like it…they will call thier main office and see how cheap they can get it for you. It is a good jewlery store with EXCELLENT payment plans and warranty plans. It is Ultra Diamonds Jewlery Store. www.ultradiamonds.com

the price for his comfort fit 4.5 mm thick 14K yellow gold band was $190. The regular price is over $300. Do not go to walmart for your rings. Thier bands are very poor quality.

You wont be disappointed, find a store near you. I will be a lifetime shopper of this store. Great quality for the best prices.

I just absolutly love my wedding set and he loves his band!
