I cant decide what I would like to have.
Purple: Amethyst (one of our wedding colors)
Green: Emerald (one of hubbys favorite colors)
Diamonds: I prefer diamonds.
I would like to purchase a jewelry set: earrings, necklace, braclet and a ring. I want to look like a million bucks, without spending a million bucks. My wedding ring is in white gold, and I LOVE white gold. So anything that I purchase will be in white gold. I have a budget. I know where to get some great deals.
Suggestions and Opinions please.
I did forget to mention this is pertaining to a renewal of vows.
It is YOUR wedding day is it not? Hopefully, you only do this once! (at least that the way it’s supposed to be right?) If you prefer diamonds, you can actually have a necklace & bracelet made with all three. Diamond center with Amerthyst and Emeralds on each side.
Match with a braclet and maybe diamond stud earings. Then everyone’s happy and you didn’t spend a million bucks.
Remember you’ll wear these things more than once and each time you do, it will remind you of your special day!
Congratulations!

Does anyone know of any websites or stores that sell discount engagement rings or wedding sets? I would still like the jewelry to be real and not of poor quality. We are trying to but a house, and would just like to have something kind of temporary, but that still looks nice and has a real diamond. Share your secrets! Thanks in advance.
You can try checking the local pawn shops too. Just be sure to ask for a jewelers loop to view the diamonds with. Shop around at the high end stores first and learn a bit about diamonds before you do the pawn shop thing….
Check the paper too, People often sell old wedding sets…..
e-mail me I can give you some pointers on buying diamonds

My fiance and I have been disagreeing about what jewelry is associated with an engagement and a wedding. The way I understood it, there was the engagement ring, and a set of two wedding rings, called wedding bands, one for the bride and one for the groom. The engagement ring and the brides wedding ring can be bought as a set and made to fit together, although this is not necessary. My fiance insists that there is first the engagement ring, and then the wedding band, which is sold as a set with the 2 wedding rings, and that the wedding band and the wedding ring are made to fit together on the woman’s hand, seperate from the engagement ring. Please explain to us what is correct, and, if possible, give a credible website with the information listed so that whoever is wrong can clearly see what is correct. Thanks.
The wedding ring and band are interchangeable terms. It is a ring because it goes around the finger, it is a band style ring because it has no stone. Therefore it is common to purchase 2 wedding rings/bands one for the husband and one the wife. The wife then wears hers with her engagement ring. This makes a total of 3 rings, 2 for the wife, 1 for the husband. The woman might have her wedding ring(band) made to fit with the engagement ring. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia.
"One interpretation states that the woman wears the wedding ring below the engagement ring, thus making it closer to the heart. Another practice holds that the woman should wear the wedding ring above the engagement ring, thus sealing the atmosphere of the engagement into the marriage. Still others prefer that the wedding ring should be worn alone. Further, modern ring sets in the United States are often marketed as a three-piece set, including the man’s wedding band, the woman’s engagement ring, and a slender band that is mounted to the engagement ring before the wedding, converting it into a single, permanent wedding ring"
It’s not an Indian wedding, but I’m wearing an Indian dress. The wedding is sort of Asian theme (Indian/Tibetan/Japanese…I’m from an Indian background but I like symbolic elements of the other traditions as well) with a Fall theme and color. The maple leaf I probably would wear with the earrings in the picture. The Indian set comes with earrings I need to adjust to fit in my ear piercings, but this is what the set looks like:
I like the simplicity of the leaf, but the Indian necklace sort of goes with the whole ensemble better. So I just want opinions.
The first and third picture are of the same jewelry. The third just gives better detail.
I like the leaf pendant better than the other set. The other necklace looks pretty much like a second collar on your dress or sari, sorry not sure what it is called. I think the leaf lends some simplicity and shows your beautiful neckline better. I don’t think the leaf doesn’t go, I think it goes well actually. The leaf with those colors all tie in well together. I vote for the leaf!

I have a wedding set of headpiece, necklace, and earrings by Crystal Collections. The metal for that set is silver, and my engagement ring is white gold…I want to weat my great grandmother’s ring on my wedding say as well, but it’s yellow gold. I didn’t get to know her well until I became her main caregiver at 16 due to the horrible care she was getting at the home for the elderly. We became quite close, and she broke her twelve year silence by telling me she loved me the first day I took care of her. We had many great times and conversations…I miss her quite a bit. She died a few years ago, and I would love to honor her in that way. Would it be okay despite the fact that my gown and bridal jewelry lean more toward silver or white gold?
People mix and match their jewelry all the time. I think it’s wonderful idea for you to wear your great grandmother’s ring on your wedding day =] Her memory is obviously special to you, so wear it in memorial.
